Paloma Rao: Intro

Paloma Rao is a video jockey, radio jockey and actress based in Chennai. She is the sister of popular actress and television personality Rochelle Rao, who was crowned Miss India International back in 2012. Rochelle has also worked as the host and anchor for many events and television shows. Paloma is an Indian person, but based on her parents’ background, she is of  mixed ethnicities. Her father, Nicholas V Rao is of Telugu and German descent while her mother, Wendy Rao, is Anglo-Indian.

Paloma was born on 4th February, 1986 and brought up in Chennai. She currently works in the Kollywood industry mainly as a VJ and an RJ. She is quite close to her family, especially to her siblings, and apart from Rochelle she also has two brothers – Noel Rohn Rao and Fritz David Rao. Her brother Noel Rohn Rao was serving as the Squad Leader in the United States Maintenance Platoon, Delta Company, 3d Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2006 at the age of 31 years. Not much is known about her other brother Fritz David, but there are some family pictures available.

A Look

Paloma did her schooling from Chennai. She first went to Good Shepherd Convent, then she went on to pursue a B.Sc. degree in Visual Communications from Loyola College. Although Paloma started her career as a theatre artist, she later moved on to become a Radio Jockey for SS Music, and hosted some popular shows like Just Connect, Autograph and First Frame. She has also acted in some movies, like That Four Letter Word, and had a cameo in the film Unnale Unnale, which became a hit. Both movies came out in 2007. In That Four Letter Word, Paloma played the role of Sara, and in her cameo role in Unnale Unnale, her character was called Priya.

Currently, Paloma hosts the show Live Cafe on Radio Station 104.8 FM Chennai, and also regularly hosts sports events for Star Sports. In 2016, she hosted the Tamil Nadu Premier League and in 2017, she hosted the ICC Champions Trophy.

Creative Touch

Paloma is a married woman, though her husband’s name and occupation is not known. She also has a daughter who is very young, and right now, she is probably two years old. Paloma has an account on Instagram where she has more than 25 thousand followers. She posts a variety of different things there. She posts fashion content, snippets from shows she hosts, pictures of herself with her family and so on. We had already established that her sister is Rochelle Rao, which makes her related to Keith Sequira, Rochelle’s husband. Keith is a popular actor in the Indian film industry.

Paloma is an Indian by birth, and she has tanned skin, long black hair and dark brown eyes. According to her Instagram posts, she has brown and golden highlights on her hair which make her look very pretty. She is around 5’6″ in height. She has a great sense of fashion and style, and often posts fashion tips on her Instagram page.
